9 area students earn degrees from University of Alabama

President’s, Dean’s Lists announced

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Some 1,257 degrees were awarded during The University of Alabama’s summer 2023 commencement at Coleman Coliseum in August.

Area students who graduated include:

  • Michael Chandler of Vinemont received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce & Business Administration
  • Natalie Conlon of Crane Hill received a Master of Arts
  • Camryn Crider of Bremen received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce & Business Administration
  • Kelsey Crow of Falkville received a Bachelor of Science
  • James Garner of Falkville received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Preston Lawrence of Cullman received a Bachelor of Science
  • Megan Meadows of Cullman received a Bachelor of Science in Human Environmental Sciences
  • Coree Wells of Cullman received a Bachelor of Science
  • Samuel Wood of Cullman received a Bachelor of Arts

A recent economic analysis found that a degree from The University of Alabama can pay more over time than investments in U.S. stock market indexes. The University provides numerous opportunities for service and growth through its educational, social and cultural experiences.

Dean’s, President’s Lists for summer 2023 term

A total of 414 students enrolled during the summer semester were named to the Dean’s List with an academic record of 3.5 or above, or the President’s List with an academic record of 4.0 (all As). These driven students are making waves across UA’s more than 70 undergraduate programs and 12 colleges and schools.

The UA Dean’s and President’s Lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

The summer 2023 lists included the following area students:

  • Preston Lawrence of Cullman was named to the President’s List
  • Kelsey Crow of Falkville was named to the Dean’s List
  • Mathis Garrett of Holly Pond was named to the Dean’s List
