Frances Olene DePlachett, 83, of Cullman, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023. She was born Oct. 6, 1939. Olene loved her family and the Lord and she was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. She loved the Good Hope community, where she and her husband owned Bob’s Store and the Good Hope Dairy Bar. Olene went back to school in her 50’s and earned an Associates Degree in Nursing. She was a registered nurse at Woodland Hospital for many years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing and quilting. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by daughter, Teresa (Stephen) Collier of Jackson, TN; son, Charles (Emily) DePlachett of Huntsville; step-daughters, Kim (Tim) Martin of Druid Hills, NC and Linda (Don) Queen of Lexington, NC; step-sons, Robert DePlachett of San Diego, CA, Terry DePlachett of Tustin, CA; Mark (Katia) DePlachett of Brazil; and Jon DePlachett of Austin, TX; grandchildren: Erin & Matthew DePlachett, Joseph, Daniel & Samuel Collier; step-grandchildren, Garrett, Nathan and Heather DePlachett, Lyndsay (Chris) Queen-Norris, Alex (Adrien) Queen and Sierra LaRue; sisters, Kathleen Hershberger and Nelda Hutchison; sisters-in-law, Doris Hinkle, Cecelia Hinkle, Sandra Hinkle and Carolyn Hinkle; brother-in-law, Bob (Gloria) Lovett; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Denson and Edith Hinkle; her husband, Robert Paul DePlachett; brothers: Ozell Hinkle, Odell Hinkle, Frank Hinkle, Alvin Hinkle, Joel Hinkle and Maurice Hinkle; sisters, Avaline Gregory and Ann Lovett; brothers-in-law, Hollis Gregory, Bill Hershberger and Gary Hutchison; and sisters-in-law, Flora Hinkle, Margie Hinkle and Betty Hinkle.
