R.W. Riley of Joppa was here on Monday.

A.J. York attended the sheriff’s convention, in Montgomery, this week.

Doctor J.S.O. Whitson, of the “Free State of Winston” was visiting friends here this week.

I.C. Gay will take a position with a wholesale house, in Birmingham, next month.

Joseph Minor of Vinemont died on Monday.

Mrs. Laura Bates has returned to her home in Aubry, Texas.

George Stiefelmeyer, of Canada, has accepted a position with C.A. Stiefelmeyer and will make his home there.

Reverend J.H. Harbison, of Bremen, is attending the Baptist Association, in Tuscaloosa, this week.

Doctor J.M. Lovett, of Bessemer, has located in Cullman, to practice dentistry.

Eggs are now up to 16 cents per dozen and cotton is bringing 9 cents per pound.

An American Legion Auxiliary as organized here on Sunday afternoon. Officers elected were: Mrs. Herman J. Stewart, president; Mrs. William Bellar, first vice-president; Mrs. George Henry Young, second vice-president; Mrs. Aloy Imbusch, secretary-treasurer; Mrs. J.E. Marion, historian; Mrs. H.M. Windsor, chaplain and Mrs. Herman McCalman, sergeant-at-arms.

Carl Peinhardt, captain of the Cullman High football team, broke his leg, at team practice, Wednesday afternoon.

Ludie House, 23, son of Reverend and Mrs. W.O. House, was killed in an automobile accident in Akron, Ohio and funeral services were held at Holly Pond on Thursday.

Clarence Sharpton is now a student a Berea College, in Kentucky.

Professor and Mrs. R.E. Moore are building a beautiful new home, in South Park.

Both the ladies of St. John’s Church and Christ English Church will serve Thanksgiving dinners, this year.

Miss Mattie Carter was guest speaker, when twenty members of Coterie met at the home of Mrs. J.C. Martin, on November 14.

Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Fegrentz, of Ohio, are visiting relatives, at Longview, this week.

Three students of Good Hope Junior High made the honor roll this month. They are Lena Woodall, Edna Stewart and Hazel Freeman.
