Windol G. Dickinson, 88, of Haleyville, passed away Aug. 19, 2023, at Lakeland Community Hospital.
He was born July 4, 1935, in Lynn Alabama. Windol loved his family and the Lord. He enjoyed sharing scriptures from the Bible with everyone he met. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Windol also loved gardening and watching his plants grow.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville where a burial will follow at Winston Memorial Cemetery. Brother Tommy Setliff and Brother Gary Wakefield will officiate.
Windol is survived by his sons, Michael (Cyndi) Dickinson and Jeff Dickinson; grandsons, William (Jennifer) Dickinson and Chad Dickinson; great grandchildren, Will Dickinson, Abi Dickinson, Bella Dickinson, Cannan Dickinson, Braden Dickinson, Calum Dickinson, Able Evans, Kelsea Evans, and DJ McCullar.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Dickinson; parents, Elzie L and Sibbie Mae Dickinson; and brother, John C. Dickinson.
