COLONY, Ala. – Colony is hosting its famous Colony Day celebration for the third consecutive year. For lovers of spades, soul food, music and dancing, classic cars and fellowship, it’s a weekend-long event you won’t want to miss!
The weekend is packed with activities sure to entertain every age. Friday evening kicks off the festivities with a chicken and fish fry accompanied by a fierce spades tournament. Saturday brings all-day fun with a ribs cook-off, car show, bingo, cake walks, banana pudding bake-off and an “adults only” party beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday rounds out the weekend of fun by bringing three churches together to host a communitywide service that will be followed by a soul food fellowship dinner.
Colony Councilwoman Jasmine Cole, who was instrumental in bringing Colony Day back after a long hiatus, shared that despite all the activities her committee has helped her plan, she’s most excited about the opportunities for fellowship and reminiscing Colony Day brings each year.
“I’m just ready to see people having a great time reuniting with family and friends, the aroma off the grills and hearing the laughter and reminiscing of times back when,” she shared.
