Funeral services for Robert Lee Edmondson, 74, of Hanceville will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel; Harold Widener and Kenneth Reeves officiating; with interment with military honors in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Edmondson passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at his residence.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served as a deacon at Cullman First Congregational Methodist Church and retired as a Sergeant from the US Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earston Edmondson and Evelyn Freeman Ryan and his wife of 52 years, Joyce Edmondson.
He is survived by three children, Dennis (Sylvia) Edmondson, Aubrey (Anita) Edmondson and Sharon (Jonathan) Parris; grandchildren, Frazier (Autumn) Edmondson, Christopher (Alaina) Edmondson, Cody Edmondson, Bailey Parris and Brady Parris; great grandchildren, Brayden Rogers, Gavin Edmondson and Jada Edmondson; brothers, Ed Ryan, Mike Ryan and Roger Edmondson and sisters, Judy Amore, Nancy Bartlett and Tia Smallwood.
