Jimmy Ray Melton, 82, of Haleyville, passed away July 24, 2023 at Hendrix Health and Rehabilitation.
He was born Oct. 6, 1940, in Guntersville, Alabama. Jimmy loved hunting, fishing, and enjoyed being outside. Most importantly, Jimmy loved his family.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where the service will be held at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist #2 in Haleyville, Alabama. Brother Sherman Kimbrough will officiate.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Marie Melton; son, Kenneth Ray (Lesia) Melton; daughter, Carla Marie (Jeff) Hyde; grandchildren, David (Mary) Hyde, Brock (Leslie) Melton, and Jon (Liz) Hyde; great grandchildren, Troy Hyde, Henry Hyde, Bradley Hyde, and Adaline Melton; siblings, Shirley (Glenn) Johnson, Thomas Melton, Roger (Joyce) Melton, and Carolyn Jo Elkins; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mae Melton; and sister, Judy Beck.
