FAIRVIEW, Ala. — Fairview’s JV baseball is coming off another good season. The Aggies ended up taking home the county championship and freshman Jaxson Robertson talked about last season, what he learned and what it was like playing alongside a great group of teammates.

“We did good. We ended up winning the county tournament, which was good. I learned some new positions and how to be a leader,” Robertson said. “It was good. They helped me out a lot and taught me a lot. Coach Nick Dumas and coach Jason Hurt were very good coaches, and they coach very well together. They are hard on you when needed but can also joke around with you every once in a while. I learned how to be a baseball player and how to be outside of baseball.”

Jaxson took away some things from JV that will definitely help him going into his first year on varsity. He will work on a very important thing in the offseason to get ready for next season and has some goals set for this upcoming season. He talked about what will make this team special to watch, a player that he looked up to growing up, and the best advice that someone ever gave him.

“Always be up, even if you are not in the game, and to be a good listener,” he said. “I will continue to work on fielding ground balls. My goals are to win as much as we can, make it to the playoffs, and to start. The team chemistry is amazing, and we have some great seniors leading us. I looked up to Lucas West growing up and the best advice that someone ever gave me was, ‘Practice how you play’.”
