Cullman’s award-winning Haynes Farm to be featured on national TV

CULLMAN, Ala. – The Hayneses of Cullman County who run Haynes Farm will receive statewide and national exposure with a feature on Simply Southern TV. 

The feature details how and why Haynes Farm earned the title of Alabama’s 2023 Farm of Distinction. As Alabama’s honoree, Darrell and Lydia Haynes will compete against 10 other farmers in the Southeastern Farmer of the Year Contest sponsored by the Sunbelt Ag Expo based in Moultrie, Georgia. The winner will be announced in October during the expo.

Family members include Darrell and Lydia Haynes who farm with their sons, Bart and Ben. Additionally, Ben and his wife, Whitney, are raising the next generation on the farm in their six children.

The show will premiere locally on Sunday, July 2, at 6:30 a.m. on WBMA-TV 33/40 out of Birmingham and will be rebroadcast on national cable network RFD-TV on Wednesday, July 5, at 3 p.m. Central time.

  • WTVY-TV 4 in Dothan on Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
  • RFD-TV cable network on Wednesdays at 3 p.m.
