BAILEYTON, Ala. – This Saturday, June 24, the Baileyton “Good Time” Drag Strip will host the Jet Car, a jet-powered dragster that runs over 200 mph in 660 feet, according to manager Adam Davis.
The Jet Car will be driven by Dawn Perdue.
Davis said he is excited for the event and wants people to get the most out of the experience. He said it’s important to him that fans get the most for their money, and he expects the Jet Car to set a new track record this weekend.
“I’m very excited,” he said. “This is my first big event since taking over, and I want the fans to enjoy the show. I’m pretty certain we will have a new track record after Saturday. The current record is 3.59 at 228 mph.”
Davis said he has prepared the facility for the fans.
“The facility will be clean, and the concession stand will be stocked and ready to serve you,” he said. “The staff will always work hard to ensure that you will get everything you pay for and more.”
Gates open at 2 p.m. and general admission is $20. Everyone who purchases general admission will get a pit pass. Kids 10 and younger get in free. Bracket time runs will be at 4. The Jet Car’s first run is tentatively scheduled for 7.
The Baileyton “Good Time” Drag Strip is located at 1582 Summit Road in Baileyton.
