Obituary: Benjamin “Ben” Felton Berry

Benjamin “Ben” Felton Berry, 55, went to his heavenly home on August 20, 2016. He was a wonderful dad, granddad, brother and uncle. Everyone who knew him loved him. He will be greatly missed by all.

Ben was born on October 29, 1960 in Haleyville. He attended Winston County High School. Ben was a commercial welder and pipe fitter. He loved playing his guitar and writing songs. He was known by his family and friends as “Felt.”

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11 a.m. Brother Scott Coffey and Brother Brian Wilbanks will officiate. Burial will be at Henryfield First Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter, Hailey (Brian) Glover; sisters, Ann Berry (Dexter) Lindsey, Susan Berry (Bobby) Simmons and Jeannie Berry (Don) Medders; one grandchild, Clara Glover; nieces, Sonya Davis and LaJonna Berry; nephews, Jon Berry, Ben Waid, Zac Clement and Gabe Clement; and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felton W. and Ablean L. Berry; brothers, Leroy Davis and John Berry.

Pallbearers will be Chris Denard, Dennis Pace, Justin Knollenberg, Zac Clement, Gabe Clement and Ben Waid.
