John Paul Luke Tomeny, 24, passed away on May 6, 2023.
Born May 6, 1999 to Dr. Patrick and Nelly Tomeny in Dunedin, FL, John Paul is survived by his parents; 9 siblings; Nathalie Tomeny, Dr. Patrick (Elise) Tomeny III, Andrea (Magdiel) Flores Tomeny, Fr. Matthew Tomeny, MIC (LT, USNR) , Claire (John) Griffith, Mary Tomeny, Joseph Tomeny, Mark Tomeny and Joshua Tomeny; nieces and nephews; Jack, Cory, Ava, Audrey, Patrick IV, Genevieve, Selmira, Hermina, Magdalena, Kolbe; his grandmother, Rosemary Tomeny; uncles and aunts, Jody (Tony) Mayer, Courtney (Dennis) Raffray, Tricia Donahue, Brennan Tomeny, Luis Salvadores, Andres (M Luisa) Salvadores, Isidoro (Ingrid) Salvadores, Marcela (William) Cormier, Tomas (Ingrid) Salvadores and Jeanette “Kity” Salvadores and a multitude of cousins.
John Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents, Patrick Tomeny Sr., and Luis and Nelly Salvadores, and three uncles, Pablo and Sergio Salvadores, and Michael Donahue.
He was an avid fisherman and golfer, as well as a huge football and hockey fan. He loved spending time on the water, boating, and at the beach. He enjoyed the company of his friends and family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was very loved and will be missed by many.
A Mass of Christian Burial for John Paul will be Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 3 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 217 2nd Street SE, Cullman, AL; interment will follow in Christ The King Monastery Cemetery at 5060 County Road 1635, Cullman, AL. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
