We sadly announce the passing of Mrs. Patricia Ann Strickland on Saturday, April 22, 2023. She touched many lives as an educator and teacher through her many years of service, including White City, Cold Springs, West Elementary, and East Elementary, Cullman.
During her years as an educator, she received many honors. One of her favorites was to be declared as the “Retired Teacher of the Year” award by the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce nominee in 1998. It was her gift and joy to always be in the middle of serving others, especially with food.
She was preceded in death by her parents Tennyson W. and Flora Audrey Brooks, sisters Charlotte Quattlebaum and Kathleen Strickland, and grandson John Connor Strickland.
She is survived by husband of 67 years, Johnnie Ray Strickland, son John W. Strickland (wife Jill), daughter Mary Veal (husband David); grandchildren Audrey Gato (husband Blaine), Annelyn and Evan Veal; niece Charmion Potts, nephew Rudae Strickland; and a host of extended family and friends. Patricia and her husband were faithful supporters of the Kairos Prison Ministry for over 22 years.
