Lance Horsley, 74, of Double Springs, entered into rest on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at UAB Palliative Care in Birmingham.
Lance was born on Nov. 22, 1948 in Walker County, Alabama. He enjoyed fishing, working on old cars, watching TV and sitting on the porch. Lance loved going to church and was a big worker in the church. He had a heart for serving others, his Lord, and his fellow church members in his capacity as deacon.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Sardis No. 2 Baptist Church in Addison, where services will be on Thursday at 2 p.m. Brother Steve Agee and Brother William McClellan will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Lance is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diane Osborne Horsley; mother, Annie Mae Brumley; brother, Gary (Betty) Horsley; sister, Arlene (Tommy) Beemon; sisters-in-law, Brenda Howse, Doris Ponder, Liz Osborne, and Polly Harrelson; brother-in-law, Buddy (Marlene) Osborne; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Horsley; Betty Horsley; Earl Brumley; brothers, Harold Lee and Jerry Harrelson; and sister, Earlene Brumley.
