Now, a beautiful soul is at peace; hardworking hands are at rest.

Our own earthly angel, Betty Carol Graves, 77, answered her Father when he whispered her name.

Carol shared her life with her beloved husband, Elton Graves, for 56 years. Together, they shared a wonderful life spanning almost 6 decades of love and laughter; celebrating good times and enduring the hard ones. Their lives revolved around God, family and friends.

Carol raised two daughters; Vickie Carol Graves Clopton and Rita Graves Kent. Not only was Carol the sweetest mother to her girls, she was their corrector, sounding board, best friend and biggest supporter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James O. and Lillie Mae Turner; son-in-law, Mac Kent; father-in-law, Olvin Graves; brothers-in-law, Lendin Stricklin and Travis Quick.

Carol is survived by her husband, Elton Graves; daughters, Vickie (David) Clopton and Rita Graves Kent; grandchildren, Tiffany Clopton, Nicole (Hayden) Loggins, Carmon (Jonathan) McCrary and Michael Brett (Kaley) Manning; great grandchildren, Karlie McCrary, Austin McCrary and Keegan Clopton; sister, Charlotte Boone; brother, Jerry (Kathy) Turner; mother-in-law, Ruth Graves; brother-in-law, Lendel (Sharron) Graves; and sister-in-law, Sheila Stricklin; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan McCrary, Hayden Loggins, Brett Manning, Chad Turner, Brad Turner, and Mickey Stricklin.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Ryan’s Creek Baptist Church in Bremen. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Reverends Tommy Graves and Brian Calvert will be officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday at Ryan’s Creek Baptist Church from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m.

The family of Mrs. Graves would like to thank Enhabit Hospice, Hanceville Funeral Home, Ryan’s Creek Baptist Church and Stouts Mountain Baptist Church for their wonderful care and support during this time of loss and transition.
