VINEMONT, Ala. – Vinemont returned home Thursday night to host Brewer and unfortunately for Eagle fans, the Patriots were in control from the start, jumping out to an early lead and pulling away to win it 11-0.

It didn’t take long for Brewer to get on the scoreboard first as a leadoff walk and a stolen base turned into an RBI single as that gave them the quick 1-0 lead. They would later hit a two-run double and would add two more runs on back-to-back Vinemont errors to push their lead to 5-0. Hayden Robinson hit a leadoff single for the Eagles, then one out later, Jake Hale reached on a Patriot error as that put runners on first and second. Back-to-back strikeouts, though, quickly ended their half of the first.

The score stayed the same until the top of the fourth inning as Brewer loaded the bases with one out and an RBI single, followed by a sacrifice fly, gave them a 7-0 lead. Josh Rhodes got hit by the pitch to lead off their half of the fourth, then he stole second and moved to third on a single by Rylan McRae as the Eagles looked to get on the scoreboard. That didn’t happen, though, as Chayce Sandlin struck out, Rhodes got caught trying to steal home, and Jaxon Holcomb went out swinging as well to end the fourth inning.

The top of the sixth inning saw the Patriots add onto their lead as they hit a leadoff home run, an RBI single, an RBI triple, and a sacrifice fly to make it 11-0. Vinemont went down in order to end the game and the Eagles ended up getting shut out by the Patriots 11-0. Robinson, McRae, and Ayden Thomason collected the only hits of the game for Vinemont (3-1).

The Eagles will look to quickly bounce back Saturday when they travel to take on East Lawrence and Clements at East Lawrence.
