Funeral services for James Donald Segers will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Wendell Peterson and Josh Nation will be officiating. Burial will follow the service at Duck River Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Segers was born on Nov. 12, 1946, in Cullman, Alabama to the late Leamon and Vernie Lee (Glenn) Segers. He died at the age of 76 on Dec. 2, 2022, at his residence in Hanceville, Alabama. Mr. Segers retired with The United States Postal Service after serving a total of 40 years. He spent 18 years working in the city of Birmingham and 22 years in Cullman.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Segers; children, David (Sonya) Segers, Brian (Nicole) Segers, Stacy (Jay) Arnold, Dana Ray (Stuart Gwin) and Kelly (Josh) Nation; grandchildren, Taylor (Justin), Chloe (Will), Dawson (Caidyn), Braden (Jacee), Haylie, Sophia, Henry, Riley, Anna, and Susanna; great grandchildren, Brynlee and soon to be Jettson; and a brother, Lee Segers Jr.
