Leadership Cullman County 2022-23 (Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce)

CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce Programs Administrator Paige Clabo, along with the Leadership Committee, welcomed participants in Leadership Cullman County 2022-23 last week to the session’s kick-off event at Stone Bridge Farms. Joining the team was Dr. Bruce Pieper with Emerge2Lead.

This year’s class of approximately 30 hand-picked participants represents a variety of community organizations including America’s First Federal Credit Union, Cullman Power Board, Daystar Church, Cullman Savings Bank, City of Cullman, R.E. Garrison, Elk River, Cullman County Schools and more.

On Tuesday evening, individual goals were determined and team-building activities with networking opportunities were provided. During Wednesday’s leadership retreat, Pieper guided the members through assessment results defining work styles and how to work in collaboration with those of differing work and communication strengths.

Moving forward, the class will convene monthly for educational sessions to help each person grow in his or her personal leadership effectiveness through the “opportunity to acquire knowledge, experience, decision-making and problem-solving skills.” Networking will continue as the class learns of the available resources, business and personal opportunities and challenges throughout Cullman County. These monthly meetings will continue through April 2023.

Monthly topics will include:

  • The impact of agriculture on the local economy
  • The criminal justice system in Cullman and issues impacting the community
  • Our local government
  • Quality of life, touring local nonprofit agencies and getting input from medical professionals
  • Education and training for Cullman County youth
  • Montgomery drive-in meeting with local legislative delegation and industry leaders
  • Economic development and tourism
