BREMEN, Ala. — Another school year is well underway and Cold Springs senior Jayden Williams is ready to get started with the new season alongside a great group of cheerleaders. She has taken away so much during her time as a cheerleader and she talked about her new coach, Mrs. Adrian Dickerson, and what all she has learned from her so far.
“It is exciting getting to prepare for our upcoming season together. We continue to grow as a successful team,” Williams said. “It has taught me many things, but mostly, it has taught me that hard work pays off. Mrs. Adrian Dickerson is very outgoing, supportive, and available for our needs. She has taught me how to be more confident while cheering and to enjoy it while I have it.”
Jayden has taught the younger cheerleaders so much and has tried to be an inspiration to them as well.
“I have gone over so many different materials with them, including cheers, band dances, and helped them with how they present themselves while cheering. It is always my goal to inspire them to be the best they can be and be someone they see as a role model. I feel like they are getting better and better each practice.”
Jayden has learned a lot from the upperclassmen that came before her and now she has set some goals for herself and the team.
“They showed me how to be a leader and encouraged me to want to lead a squad. They also taught me that growth is a part of the process,” she said. “My main goals are to make this last season count and continue growing with my squad. I hope to enjoy it as much as I can. The goal we would like to reach as a team would be to learn all of our materials very well and get even more engaged with the crowd. We also hope to make a noticeable difference this year with our squad.”
