Shaw Breaks Leg

Ronald Shaw, 16, member of the Hanceville football squad, received a broken leg in the third quarter of the Bulldogs game with Arab on Friday night.

Cars Collide On One Way Street

Some $475 damage resulted at 3:37 p.m. on Monday when two cars collided at Seventh Street East and Fourth Avenue East. Frank C. Cryder, of Rockford, Illinois, was driving a 1954 Dodge sedan going the wrong way on a one-way street, when his car collided with a 1955 Chevrolet sedan, driven by Fayteen Johnson, of Route Seven, Cullman.

Mrs. Homer Alvis is in Washington, D.C. visiting her daughters, Clara Ann and Hilda, who are employed there.

Mrs. Cortez Speegle, of Valley Springs and Mrs. Kenneth Freeman and Deniece, of Brushy Pond, visited Mr. and Mrs. Weaver Sinyard on Friday.

Mrs. Lula Bailey, of Bailey Mountain, attended church here on Sunday.

Mrs. Ivey Davis, of Jasper, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Davis and children, of Harmony, Mr. and Mrs. Arrell Bryant, Hannah and Pat, of Cullman and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Rushing visited Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bryant on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Guthery (Virginia Calvert) attended church here on Sunday.

Mrs. Lula Guthery spent the weekend with her daughter, and family, Mr. and Mrs. Miller and Sharon.

Hanceville Happenings

Mrs. Shirley Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wardell Davis, of Memphis, Tennessee and AQF Genhard Boerner, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, were married on September 5, at the First Baptist Church in Memphis. Those from here attending were her grandparents, Reverend and Mrs. Roscoe Wilhite and Mr. and Mrs. Alton Starnes.

Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Blalock accompanied their son, Delton, to Tuscaloosa on Sunday, where he will enter the university for the winter term as a sophomore.

Mrs. Hubert Linton has returned home, after spending two weeks in Gardendale with Mr. and Mrs. James Linton. Judy Linton, who underwent surgery last week at the Highland Baptist Hospital, is now able to go home.

Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Maddox, Deborah, Robert and Paula spent Sunday visiting relatives in Charleston, Tennessee.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Dean, of Birmingham, were the guests on Friday of Mrs. Dean’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. S.M. Casey. Mr. and Mrs. Roy McCoy, of Augusta, Georgia, were the Monday guests of his mother, Mrs. Gertie McCoy.
