Yard Sale to Benefit Couple’s Adoption

Yard sale will be held on Friday and Saturday, July 15-16, inside Building One at the Cullman County Fairgrounds by Sportsman Lake. The sale will be going on from 7 a.m.- 4 p.m. each day. Sale being held by Brittney and Jared Hopper to raise funds for the adoption of their child from China.

 

Sensory-Friendly Trip to Cullman Fire Station No. 2

The Cullman Autism and Special Needs Family Support Group has several group activities planned for this year’s summer break in addition to their regularly scheduled events. On Friday, July 15 at 10 a.m., the gang will head out for a free sensory-friendly trip to Cullman Fire Station No. 2 which will include safety tips and a tour of Cullman’s newest fire station by the fire fighters and a visit from members of the Cullman Police Department. The fire station is near Marvin’s at 1711 Main Ave. SW in Cullman. Lunch at Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits, at 1821 Cherokee Ave. SW, will follow the tour. Bates has requested RSVPs via the group’s Facebook page for this event.

Sensory Friendly Movie Details: NO previews, the movie auditorium keeps their lights turned slightly up (dim lights will remain on) and the sound turned slightly down, for all ages and special needs to be able to "feel free to be you."

Families are permitted to bring their own gluten-free, casein-free snacks from home.

 

Weekly Just Play! Program- Cullman City Parks and Rec

When: Fridays at 1 p.m. in June & July

Where: A different CP&R small park each week (July 15 – East Side Park, July 22 – Carol Acres Park, July 29 – Ingle Park)

What: A free weekly program for ages 5-12 with organized time at the parks including: scavenger hunts, water balloon fights, slip-n-slides, capture the flag, kickball, relay games and more!
