CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) made multiple drug-related arrests this week in unrelated incidents across the county.

On July 18, deputies responded to a report of domestic violence in the Johnson’s Crossing area.

William Checkon, 79, of Hanceville, allegedly left the scene prior to the deputies’ arrival. He was located in his vehicle in the Phelan area a short time later.

Checkon was allegedly intoxicated and was non-compliant with the deputies. The CCSO said he became combative during the process, but was arrested.

Checkon was charged with driving under the influence, resisting arrest and assault (of the officers).

Also on July 18, deputies arrested Ashley Danielle Loggins, 35, of Hanceville, on multiple failure to appear warrants, including unlawful possession of methamphetamine (2 counts), and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

On July 19, deputies arrested Shayla Marie Ford, 26, of Cullman, on bond revocation and multiple outstanding warrants for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, child abuse and a traffic violation.

On July 20, deputies arrested Roger Dale Smith, 39, of Cullman.

Smith had multiple outstanding warrants stemming from an incident that occurred earlier this month.

He was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, burglary and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
