GOOD HOPE, Ala. – Good Hope’s City Council held its first July meeting at Good Hope City Hall Monday night and passed a new Resolution to approve the license for beer and wine sales at the Exxon station in Good Hope. Good Hope’s Alcohol Review Committee met July 8 to review the application Exxon submitted and recommended the Council’s approval for a license.

The Council also approved the surplus of a pair of city vehicles, a 2012 Ford F-150 that was purchased in 2016 and a 2019 Top Dog Trailer. The Council plans to repair it with a similar trailer that better fits the equipment the city has.

Before adjourning for the night, the Council heard concerns from a Deer Trace resident about speeding drivers on her road. With several families with children living on the road, she’s reached out to the Sheriff’s Office and the City Council asking what they can do to help slow down drivers and the Council agreed to look into what their options are for limiting the speed on the road.

Good Hope’s City Council will hold its next meeting at Good Hope City Hall July 25 at 6:30 p.m. Later that week, the City of Good Hope will host its annual Back to School Bash Thursday, July 28 from 5-7 p.m.
