HANCEVILLE, Ala. – After serving the past two seasons on the sidelines for the Hanceville Lady Bulldogs, Head Coach Tim Bellmon is stepping down. Bellmon is retiring from his role with the Hanceville Volleyball Team as well.
“Thank you to every student that I have coached at Hanceville. They will all have a special place in my heart along with every coach and coworker I’ve had the pleasure to work with,” Bellmon said. “I want to give a special thank you to Josh Stanley, Jessica McHan and so many more that have been a big part of my time at Hanceville. Hanceville will always be special to me, my son Tyson (Bellmon) graduated from here and was on the 2020 team that went to the Final Four.”
Bellmon was hired as Head Coach in May 2020, replacing Head Coach Christina Watson. Bellmon began his coaching career at Victory Christian Academy in Dallas in 1998 and spent nearly 20 years coaching in the state of Texas, making several stops to fill assistant and head coaching positions. After serving as an assistant coach at Texas Wesleyan University from 2009 to 2014, Bellmon made his way East to Hanceville to join John Meeks’ staff at Wallace State as an assistant. In 2018, Bellmon shifted onto the Lady Lions’ sideline as an assistant for Coach Jessica McBrayer before filling the same role at Hanceville High School for the Lady Bulldogs in 2019.
