County Parks and Rec Director Doug Davenport said, “We feel like it’s going to be an awesome event, there have been added security and traffic control.”

Desperation Church organized and ran the fireworks show at Heritage for several years, and through the pandemic, the City of Cullman chose to continue the show as a way to provide a safe avenue for families to get out and enjoy an event. Though the City decided not to host that show this year, they are encouraging the community to support the 50th anniversary of the County’s show at Smith Lake.

Executive Director of Cullman Parks, Recreation and Sports Tourism Nathan Anderson stated, “The plans to continue the show were temporary, as we have many great opportunities for families to enjoy fireworks within our community. We have a great relationship with our friends at Cullman County Parks and Recreation and want to encourage others within our community to support their incredible show on the world-class lake we all love!”
