VINEMONT, Ala. – The Town of South Vinemont has gained its newest addition in The Butcher Meat Co. on Friday morning. The business, owned by Kadi and Justin Smith, will be bringing fresh cut meats including angus choice steaks and roasts, bone-in and boneless porkchops, spareribs, county style ribs, a full variety of chicken, as well as shrimp steamed every day.
All the basic cuts of beef, pork and chicken will be kept in stock, and there will be a butcher on site daily. Justin has been in the meat cutting business for 16 years, with most people who know him calling him “the grill master.”
The meats currently come from a distributor based in Birmingham, but Justin says that they plan to offer some local raised beef in the future. The Smiths are looking to hire members to join their team. The available positions are Full-time Meat Cutter and Part-time Cashier. Interested parties can call 256-708-9944 to schedule an interview.
The Vinemont Town Council visited the shop with a big crowd of interested customers for the grand opening and ribbon cutting on Friday morning. The butcher shop is a welcome addition to the town with many excited about a place close by to purchase fresh meat.
Mayor Radginal Dodson gave a short statement before the ribbon cutting, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart. To the town of South Vinemont, thank you for all the help you’ve been. Everybody put forth a lot of effort, and I’m real proud of this establishment.”
