CULLMAN – The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jody Alan Mead, 31, of Cullman and Shannon Alford McDonald, 35, of Cullman in connection to several burglaries and thefts that have occurred the past few weeks.

CCSO deputies, investigators and CNET agents arrested Mead in Vinemont soon after receiving a tip he was staying in the area. McDonald was arrested after turning himself in at the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office. Mead and McDonald have been suspects in several 4-wheeler thefts and burglaries that have occurred the past few weeks in Cullman County as well as multiple other counties.

Investigators are currently working to recover more of the stolen property so that it can be returned to the victims.

“I am very thankful for the deputies, investigators and CNET, who put in a lot of man hours to solve this case. Everyone works hard for their property and no one likes a thief who comes and steals their hard-earned possessions,” said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry.

Mead was charged with third-degree burglary and two counts of first-degree theft of property. His bond is $55,000 cash.

McDonald was charged with third-degree burglary, first-degree theft of property and second-degree theft of property. His bond is $20,000.

Both are currently being held in the Cullman County Detention Center.

Other charges are also pending in other jurisdictions relating to these cases.
