CULLMAN – Todd Ossanna with the Alabama State Secretary’s Office held a Voter ID and Registration Drive at Cullman City Hall today.
“What we’ve done already is go to every county in the state, this is our second go-around,” Ossanna said. “The goal is to help people get registered to vote and to get them these free IDs.”
According to Ossanna, many people do not have photo IDs, so part of this drive is giving people every opportunity to prepare to vote by August, which is the cut-off for registration.
“We are just trying to do everything we can to help people,” he said.
Some cities have more people turn out to the registration drives than others, depending on the percentages of people in that city that are already registered. As of 11:30 this morning, no one had visited Ossanna at the City Hall auditorium, in fact, the multiple people in the secretary’s office at City Hall were unaware of the drive taking place just down the hall from their office.
