VINEMONT, Ala. – The South Vinemont town council met on Tuesday evening to swear in new councilmember Nina Justice. Cullman County Probate Judge Tammy Brown administered the oath of office. Justice will fill place # 2 on the council.

The council approved the use of the town community center for an event hosted by the Vinemont Youth Football Association on May 14from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The group will be selling vendor spots of 12”x12” areas for $35 and 15”x15” for $50.

Treasurer Katie Millwood and other officers with the Youth Football Association attended the meeting to discuss the event. Millwood said, “We are here to today to ask for your permission and support in starting the first annual Pinnacle Place Exchange. We have chosen this name because pinnacle means the best or most important part of something or the point of greatest success and achievement. At this exchange, we would invite all small businesses to set up for the community to come and see what goods or services they have to offer. A few examples of businesses we would invite are ones that have food trucks, who sell popsicles or snow cones, make shirts or signs, sell make up or other beauty products, or maybe even candles. The profit we would make would be the spots that we sell. Our goal is to get the community as a whole involved with the youth, as well as all the small businesses in and around Vinemont.”

The mayor stated that he had visited the Vinemont trailer parks for the third time about the ongoing community issue of overflowing dumpsters. The council made a motion to begin a process to revoke the business license of the trailer park owners due to the public nuisance safety issue.

The council also adopted the resolution 2022 Division F Phase I Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan.

Also adopted was the Proclamation recognizing the month of April as Child Abuse Awareness Month.

The Vinemont Town Council meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at Vinemont Town Hall. The public is invited to attend.
