Joe David Lewis, 91 of Haleyville, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at his home surrounded by loving family.
JD was born on December 7, 1930 in Double Springs, Alabama.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs. Mr. Lewis will lie-in-state from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs where services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Liberty Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Danny Page will officiate.
JD is survived by his wife of 68 years: Virgie Lewis; sons: Ronnie Lewis, Harold Lewis, Danny Lewis and Roger (Debra) Lewis; daughter: Sue (Bruce) Pruett; sister: Willodean Lewis; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his sons: Ricky Lewis and Charles Edward Lewis; daughter: Dianne Stidham; parents: Sammy and Jo Lewis; sister: Christine Riddle; grandchildren: Nick and Marissa Lewis and brother: Julius Lewis.
