HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Though winter’s chill will be for another month at least, some cities in Cullman are already working to spread the word about summer events in the works. Amy Moctezuma, assistant park director for the City of Hanceville, recently announced two such events on Facebook last week.
The first event will be a bluegrass gospel concert at the Hanceville Civic Center on May 14. Further details will be announced as the date approaches, but two acts confirmed for attendance are the Cotton Pickin’ Kids and Bama Blue Grace.
The second event will be the very first Hanceville Bull Bash on June 10 – 11. Friday will feature a running of the bulls down Commercial St. downtown, followed by Dinner with Cowboys at the Civic center. The following day will have bucking and fighting bulls at CW Day Park, followed by a free concert starring Brandon Elder. Anyone interested in becoming a vendor at the Bull Bash can contact Amy Moctezuma via Facebook Messenger or by calling Hanceville City Hall.
However, for residents who don’t want to wait so long for a festival to attend in Hanceville, there are a few that will be happening earlier in spring. One will be the 5th Annual Hanceville Irish Festival on March 19 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., hosted by Snead’s Farmhouse. The organizers are still looking for vendors, so interested parties can contact Snead’s Farmhouse at judysnead9522@gmail.com. Booth fees are $30 per booth. There will also be the Cottontails Arts and Crafts Festival on April 9 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., hosted by Willow Brook Boutique & Design. This festival will be held on Commercial St. in downtown Hanceville.
