PREP BASKETBALL: Midseason records and local milestones update

CULLMAN, Ala. — We are almost two months into the 2021-2022 basketball season and a lot of local teams have gotten off to strong starts so far, while some teams are looking to shift momentum and bounce back in the second half of the season. At the same time, several local players and coaches have already reached some impressive milestones early on this season.

Varsity Girls Records:

Milestones:

Several local players reached some huge milestones in the first half of the season. Good Hope’s Ivey Maddox scored her 1,000th point in their game against Pisgah on November 13, but she wasn’t the only Raider player to reach that milestone. Rudi Derrick accomplished that feat in Good Hope’s game at Cold Springs on November 29 and Tanner Malin reached 1,000 career points on December 2 against Curry.

Cullman’s Jaden Winfrey reached 1,000 career points during the Lady Bearcats’ game against Grissom on December 16 and Tucker Gambrill scored his 1,000th career point on November 24 against Sylacauga. The Lady Bearcats’ head coach, Josh Hembree, also reached a huge milestone, collecting his 100th career win with the Lady Bearcats on November 30 against Madison Academy.
