CULLMAN – The 6th Annual Holiday Auction for Cullman Christian School was held at Loft 212 on Friday evening. This annual fundraising event included a full dinner, live auction, silent auction and several creative games to play and win excellent prizes. The fundraiser was open to all and was a great chance to support Christ-centered education in the Cullman community.

One of the opportunities to contribute to the school was called From the Heart donations. For this portion, funds were donated by attendees in various amounts of $50, $100, $250, $500 and $1,000. Attendees raised their bid paddles when they desired to donate a specific amount to the fund. This year, From the Heart donations specifically helped to fund the purchase of interactive white boards for the classrooms and shade sails for the playground. The past shade sails were destroyed by the tornados in April 2011. Around $6,000 was raised for this portion of the night.

A popular event to participate in for the evening was the Faculty Treasure Table. Attendees could purchase as many keys as they wanted for $5 each to try to open the locked box to win the table full of gifts. Better than half the attendees stood in line to attempt to win. The Faculty Treasure Table included a beach stay for a week in August 2015, dinner gift certificates, store and manicure gift certificates, jewelry and much more. The table contributions valued over $2,600.

A custom golf-cart was the largest item up for bid at the live auction, selling for $2,900. Upon receiving the golf cart, the owner could choose his or her favorite team and the cart would be customized accordingly. This item along with the other live auction items raised over $8,000 for Cullman Christian School.

Principal Rachael Howze said that Cullman Christian School exists to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by challenging its students to know Him as Lord, to think biblically, and to grow in knowledge and skill that they may serve and influence the world in His name. She said, “We provide our students an educational climate that is academically excellent and unashamedly Christian.” She added that by supporting their Holiday Auction, you have joined them in their endeavor.
