Teacher of the Month: Mark Adams, Hanceville High School (HHS) Library Media Specialist

Mark Adams began teaching at Hanceville High in 2000. He transitioned to library media specialist in 2008.

“To use the cliché, he goes above and beyond is an understatement,” said Daniel Wakefield, Hanceville High School principal. “Adams is on the leadership team at Hanceville, stays late when needed without being asked, helps our senior teachers create a plan to prepare students for testing and much more. I cannot think of anyone more worthy of being appreciated for his time and efforts than Mr. Adams. He is an integral part of what we do daily at HHS, and he is truly appreciated.”

Staff Member of the Month: Whitney Trammell, Good Hope Elementary Secretary

Whitney Trammell was previously the school custodian and made the transition to secretary at the beginning of the school year.

Beverly Jenkins, Good Hope Elementary principal said, “If a student forgot snack money, she is there. If a student is having a bad day, she is there. If a student needs fresh clothes, she is there. If a student is unsure, she is there. What better way to serve and support others than to make a child’s day better?”

School administrators nominate teachers and staff members for the award. A committee reviews the nominations each month to select the winners. Cullman County Schools thanks America’s First for their partnership to present these awards.
