BIRMINGHAM, Ala.– Walmart and Sam’s Clubs in Alabama concluded its annual campaign for Children’s of Alabama, a member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, raising more than $789,000 for the state’s only freestanding pediatric medical center.

Walmart store #670 in Cullman was the top fundraiser in Alabama, donating $33,432 to Children’s. The Walmart and Sam’s Club campaign allowed customers and members to donate at the register through Walmart.com and the Walmart app.

“The south Cullman Walmart has a true passion in their heart for the Cullman Community,” said David Roberts, store manager. “We love to give back to our schools, police/fire departments and parks. However, nothing gets the team fired up like Children’s of Alabama. It is the love for kids, the opportunity to help someone we have never met, the chance to bring a small bit of happiness in a time of hardship. Combine the passion of our associates for helping others along with the great community of Cullman, there is no secret to why we are number one in giving back.”

Donations benefit the annual fund, which supports the greatest needs of the hospital, including charitable care, family support services, state-of-the-art equipment and technology and research and clinical trials.

Since 1987, Walmart and Sam’s Clubs locations have raised more than $1 billion for CMN Hospitals across North America. Customers still have the opportunity to make a difference by donating online at https://childrensmiraclenetworkhospitals.org/walmart-campaign/
