Obituary: Mary Jane Martin

Funeral for Mary Jane Martin, 72, of Hanceville will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 6 at Hanceville Funeral Home with Reverends Rickey Maroney, James Fields, Jr. and Max Hagood officiating. Interment will follow at Center Grove Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Tuesday evening beginning at 5:30 at the funeral home.  Jane passed on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Cullman Regional Medical Center in Cullman after an extended illness.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years: Thomas Ray Martin; children: Christy Stargel, Ronald Phillips, Michael (Katie) Phillips, Jamie (Perry) Casey, Cindy (Van Hall) Myrick, Brandie Myrick, Jimmy (Julie) Martin, Candy Martin, Scotty Martin and Jennifer Latham; sisters: Lola Ann Alexander of Gadsden, Elsie (Bob) Taulton of Frederick, MD, Delcie Love of Selma and Mable Worley of Gadsden; brothers: Ernest Whitt of Boaz, Bobby Whitt of of Hickory, NC, Michael Summerville of Pelser, SC and Ray Whitt of Gadsden; grandchildren; Kari Anne (Joseph) Wineman, Keysha (Jonathan Tidwell) Phillips, Erin (Brena Cornelius) Birdwell, Kirsten Phillips, Dante Reese, Chelsey (Tyler) Stark, Micah Birdwell, Amiyah (Carlie Brown) Hanna, Brooklyn Hall, Kayley Phillips, Kadence Phillips, Cady Martin, Anna Martin, Noah Martin, William Martin, Weston Martin, Nathan Kuykendall, Dakota McCollum, Courtney Casey, Destiny Latham, Scarlett Latham and Ariel Latham; great-grandchildren: Kammi Phillips, Lexie Graham, Kutter Grisham, Tavryn Kuykendall, Harper Stark, Bentley Woodall and Brexton Brauer and a host of nieces and nephews and special family friends: Randy and Jill Powe and Janie Clark.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Lonnie and Annie Newkirk Whitt; adoptive parents, Howard and Noma Lee Wilbanks; late husband: James Douglas Myrick; siblings; Lonnie Whitt, Jr., Tommy Wilbanks, Edna Johnson and Nellie Scroggs and granddaughter: Cady Phillips.

Pallbearers will be D Hurst, Josh Mentzer, CJ James, Dirt Coker, Alex Armstrong, Brontae Harris, Kenton Pettis and Torrey Green.
