Obituary: Reverend Aubrey Glenn McCain, Jr.

Reverend Aubrey Glenn McCain, Jr., 76, of Sardis Community, entered into rest on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at his home.

Glenn was born on May 12, 1945 in Cullman, Alabama. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 and was the pastor at Mt. Vernon First Congregational Methodist Church. He loved his Lord and Savior–God was first and his wife and family were second. Glenn was the backbone of his family. He loved his kids, grandkids and his church family. Glenn loved being in his shop working with wood.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Mt. Vernon First Congregational Methodist Church, where the service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Reverend Greg Standridge, Reverend Wayne Jetton and Reverend Perry McCravy will officiate.

Glenn is survived by his wife: Sue McCain; son: Stacy McCain and his wife Amy; daughters: Kelly Brown and her husband Marc, and Amanda McCain; grandchildren: Laken Crawford and her husband Josh, Brooke Beam and her husband Ace, Dalton McCain, Isaac Horton and Ivy Mae Gilbreath; great-grandchildren: Braylee Odom, Malachi Beam and Griffin Beam; sister-in-law: Linda Marlow; brother-in-law: Don Marlow and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Ivory McCain; an infant sister; sister-in-law: Evelene Blackwood and brother-in-law: Carlton Blackwood
