CULLMAN, Ala. – The construction on Alabama Highway 157 is well underway as Chilton Contractors Inc. work on the two-lane northbound roadway. The plans are also including a multi-use path from Eva Road to Childhaven Road and an additional multi-use path from Eva Road to Forrest Avenue.

“In the city of Cullman, the word we hear continuously every time we are in front of this podium, is ‘teamwork.’ Cullman City Council has talked about teamwork and without everybody that is in this room–plus others–it [NH construction] would not have happened.”, said Senator Garlan Gudger at briefing Friday.

With as much care as possible put into preventing large traffic impacts, there are possibilities of temporary minor inconveniences. Traffic on Hwy 157 will be maintained whenever possible, though there are possibilities of some reductions to one-lane or flagged traffic. There is also a chance that driveway accesses will be temporarily disrupted.

Construction is expected to be completed in late 2022.
