Cullman County Schools Bus Involved in Early Morning Incident; Two Taken to CRMC

Updated 7:30 p.m.: According to Cullman County Schools Transportation/Safety Director Jeffrey D. Harper, one of the two people taken to CRMC this morning was a student. The student was released immediately from CRMC. At the time of the incident, there were four students and one aide on the school bus, along with the bus driver.

The identity of the other driver involved in the incident has not been released.
 

JONES CHAPEL – A Cullman County Schools bus was involved in a traffic incident with a car this morning near Jones Chapel. Two people were taken to Cullman Regional Medical Center.

The wreck happened at the intersection of U.S. Highway 278 West and County Road 940/1114 at approximately 7:15 a.m.

The identities of those involved have not been released.

Cullman County Sheriff's Office deputies were on scene to help with traffic and to ensure the safety of the children. "Our main concern was the safety of the children," said Sheriff Matt Gentry.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is handling the investigation.
