CULLMAN – On Saturday, November 8, 2014, Cullman’s own Tony Camardella will be participating in an awareness/fundraiser walk entitled, Shining a Light on Hope Hike, Bike & Trike from Ardmore to Atmore – then on to Mobile. The money raised during this event will go to fund the expansion of an orphanage in Honduras called Hope House.

Hope House was founded in 2000 by Angie McInvale at 23 years of age. McInvale graduated high school just outside of Birmingham, and went on to earn a degree in early childhood education from the University of Montevallo. As a young woman, McInvale had been to Honduras on mission trips, and worked with various public orphanages. After seeing the sad conditions in which children were being raised, she felt called to start Hope House.

Hope House is a safe haven for children that have been orphaned, abandoned and or abused. It is currently home to 19 children ages anywhere from 1-19 years of age. These children receive a loving place to live, grow and learn. They also experience the life changing power of Jesus Christ in their daily lives.

The Hope House organization recently acquired 25 additional acres of land just outside the city. Plans are under way for expansion and growth as God continues to provide loving care for the unfortunate children of Honduras.

“Hope House is looking forward to being able to care for, love, educate and share God with up to 100 children on the new property,” said Camardella “as well as have camps for the children of the surrounding villages – impacting hundreds more.”

In order for Hope House to grow, additional funding is needed. This is what Camardella is planning to provide. Please make plans to come out and join him while he is in town on Saturday, November 8 at the Belk parking lot between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m. Tony hopes to have a big crowd walk with him from Belk to the Chamber of Commerce parking lot, where the walk will end for the day. The following Monday, November 10, he will be on Channel 2 Cullman at 7 a.m. and then will continue the walk out of Cullman once he’s finished with his television interview. You can follow him on Facebook as he makes the trek through the state wearing a GPS.

If you would like more information about the fundraiser or would like to know more about Hope House, feel free to contact Tony Camardella at 205-253-7775 or email him at biodzl@mac.com. You can also visit Hope House on Facebook and their webpage at www.hopehouse.info.

If you cannot be with Tony in person, please help encourage him by sending kind words and biblical messages to him via text, email or Facebook. Prayers and well wishes will go a long way in making the walk, as well as the Hope House expansion possible.
