CULLMAN, Ala. – Residents of several area nursing homes and assisted living facilities were all smiles Saturday as they were visited by close to 100 Jeeps. The Cullman County Wranglers’ 2nd annual Ridin’ for Residents Jeep Parade made its way through Cullman and Hanceville Saturday, May 8, no doubt turning heads along the way.

Jeep owners gathered Saturday morning and set out in a fun parade visiting Cullman Health Care, Folsom Center, Hanceville Nursing and Rehab, Monarch Place, Woodland Village and Woodland Haus. The Cullman County Wranglers and USA Healthcare organized the event.

Stephanie Coleman, community relations director for USA Healthcare-Alabama LLC, reported that 96 Jeeps left from Cullman Church of Christ and were joined by others along the way. The riders were greeted with cheers and signs at each location. Those at the Woodland Haus and Woodland Village had handbells to ring when they saw a Jeep they liked. The bell ringing never stopped as they loved each and every one that passed by.

Jeeps came from Birmingham, Huntsville, Guntersville and throughout North and Central Alabama to join the Cullman County Wranglers as they continued the event that began last year during the COVID pandemic to let those in long -term care know that they are loved.

Many local businesses, churches and individuals donated to make this year’s event a success. Those participating, or not, were asked to bring donations of requested and useful items to be distributed to residents throughout the facilities the parade visited. Raffle prizes were also given away.

Cullman County Wranglers wished to thank the many who helped make this year’s event a huge success including: Cullman Church of Christ, USA Healthcare, EconoMed Pharmacy, Cullman Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, It’s Never Too Late, Madison Core Labs, Stoney Lonesome OHV Park, Initial Impressions, Hagemore Reality, Chick-fil-a, Southern Eats, Comfort Care Home Health and Hospice, Mom & M’s Southern with a Twist Food Truck and Kona Shaved Ice.
