The daughter of the late Opal Robert and Sarah Gamble Elsberry died peacefully Tuesday evening with her daughter and granddaughter at her side. She was a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years, enjoyed gardening and sewing. She made her children’s clothes for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and caregiver to her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharkey IWilliam P., Jr.) Williams; granddaughter, Kim (Jimmy) Mattox; grandson, Eric Bice; 13 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and her loving K-9 friend, Sweet Heidi. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Franklin Phillips, Jr.; daughter, Debbie Bice Hann; grandson, Bart Christopher Bice; sisters, Nellie Brown and Flora Helen Couch.
