HANCEVILLE – On Thursday, April 7, agents with the Cullman County Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET), along with Cullman County Sheriff’s Office investigators, patrol deputies and K-9 units arrested Stacy Lee Tubbs, 41, of Hanceville, a registered sex offender, Savannah Michelle Carroll, 28, of Hanceville and Angela Roberts Griffey, 40, of Hanceville, for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Also arrested was Richard Melvin Scott, 52, of Hanceville, for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

The arrests were made at the residence of Tubbs, a registered sex offender, near Hanceville on County Road 536 while deputies were executing a search warrant. Deputies entered the residence and immediately discovered Tubbs, Carroll and Griffey smoking a glass pipe of methamphetamine.

After the first scene was contained, CNET, investigators and deputies executed a search warrant and an arrest warrant for unlawful distribution of a controlled substance a short distance away on County Road 538 Scott. Deputies discovered ICE, a purer form of methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash.

In total, CCSO seized approximately 10 grams of ICE, 5 grams of marijuana, $1,250 cash and drug paraphernalia.

“Anytime we can get a sex offender who is also a drug offender off the streets of our community that’s a good day,” said Sheriff Matt Gentry. “I also want to commend all the agents and deputies for their work in arresting these suspects,” added Gentry.

All four suspects are being held in the Cullman County Detention Center without bond.
