CULLMAN – On Saturday, April 30, the Cullman County Rescue Squad will hold a car show at the Cullman County Fairgrounds. The squad hopes to make the show an annual event

Registration will start at 8:30 a.m., and the event itself will be going by 9 a.m., according to Secretary Treasurer of the Rescue Squad, Miranda Weaver. The judges will begin their assessment of the cars at 1 p.m.

“It was my idea to have the event,” Weaver said. “I wanted something different. We have some people who know about cars, so I thought, ‘Why not a car show?’”

Begun in 1962, the Cullman County Rescue Squad is a volunteer, nonprofit organization. The squad is planning for the car show to be the biggest annual fundraiser for the organization, according to Weaver.

The car show is open and free to the public, but costs $25 for those who wish to register their vehicles, and $20 for vendor registration.

There will be activities for the kids, a DJ, prizes and more.

To pre-register an automobile or to be a vendor, call 256-739-0786 or 256-595-7814 to get more information.
