FAIRVIEW, Ala. – Friday was a special day at Fairview High School as friends, family, coaches and teammates met in the library to celebrate the next step of one of their fellow Aggies’ athletic and academic career. After putting together a stellar high school cross country career, Peyton Bailey signed a scholarship to continue running at for Head Coach David Cain and the UAH Chargers.
During his senior campaign, Peyton was the 5A, Section 4 champion, placed second at the Kudzu Hills Invitational and Cullman County Championship while also collecting top 10 finishes at the North Alabama Twilight Cross Country Classic, the Pepsi XC Challenge, the Fairview Invitational, St. Bernard Oktoberfest Invitational and the AHSAA State Cross Country Championships. Bailey also holds the school record in both the 5K (16:13) and 2-Mile (11:50).
The Chargers are looking forward to adding Peyton to their roster, but he still has a lot left to do at Fairview. The Aggies have an area basketball tournament matchup at Brewer coming up Tuesday night and Bailey’s final season of track & field at Fairview is coming up this spring.
