Obituary: Clara Ann Bowen

Graveside services for Clara Ann Bowen, 70, of Cullman, who passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021 at Simcoe Baptist Cemetery. Moss Service Funeral Home directing.

Ms. Bowen grew up in Fairview and attended the University of Montevallo. She was an accountant by profession and spent most of her career as a political media buyer for the elections. Her job consisted of calling the radio and television stations where the election was being held and procuring the best rates for the ads. Clara loved watching and attending the Atlanta Braves games; her favorite player was Gene Garber, who was a relief pitcher. She lived in Atlanta for 20 years but also lived in Nashville and New Orleans. She particularly loved the Mardi Gras festivities in New Orleans.  She enjoyed traveling and while traveling to New York, she did a film junket with Kris Kristofferson.  

Her parents Joseph and Mamie Nicholas Bowen preceded her in death, as well as her sister Julie Elizabeth Bowen.

She is survived by her son Stacey Huffman; grandchildren Cade Hardin, Keagan Hardin, Macey Huffman, and Jase Huffman; sisters

Mary (David) Nunnelley, Marlene (James) Masters and Darlene (Mike) Hudson; and brothers William (Joannie) Bowen and Charles (Helen) Bowen.
