CULLMAN, Ala. – A white Chevrolet Colorado was pulled from Duck River in Cullman County Monday. Divers with the Cullman Police Department (CPD) and Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), along with Eric Parker of the North Alabama Diver Center, located and recovered the vehicle.

“Officer Matt Dean with the Lake Patrol, they were notified that there was a vehicle out in the water, in Duck River,” said CPD Officer Roy Bates. “Today, Matt Dean, Capt. Gene Bates and I got on a boat and went out there and we located something.”

Bates said the divers, using a magnet they attached to the vehicle, went down the line and confirmed it was a Chevrolet Colorado.

Bates said Deputy Ryan Hogeland with the CCSO Dive Team was part of the recovery effort.

“We geared up and hooked a cable to it and they pulled it out,” said Bates, who said a wrecker service assisted.

“We’re still not sure how it got there or who put it out there,” he said. “It’s still under investigation.”

Anyone with any information should contact the CPD at 256-734-1434.
