Master Sergeant (Ret) Jimmy B. Riddle, 72, of Cullman died peacefully in his sleep on Dec. 2, 2020.
He was a devoted husband to his wife Cheryl Tyler Riddle to whom he was married for 54 years, 8 months and 9 days. Born in Dunn, NC Aug. 15, 1948, he was the son of the late Noah B. and Lena C. Riddle of Dunn, NC.
He entered the United States Army in 1966 and proudly served on active duty until 1974. He then joined the Alabama Army National Guard in 1976 and served his state until retiring in 2004. Jimmy enjoyed fishing and playing golf as often as the weather would allow, sometimes when the weather wouldn’t allow.
In addition to his beloved wife Cheryl, the love of his life, he leaves behind his son Christopher and wife Lucy Riddle and son Joseph and wife Keely Riddle. He was the grandfather to Austin T. and wife Savannah Riddle, Alex J. and wife Shauna Bruce, Justin D. Bruce, Emma V. Bruce, Daisy Jo Riddle, and Justice Jane Riddle. He was the cherished brother of Randy Riddle and family, the late Libby Tart and family, Tony Riddle and family, Donald Riddle and family, and Peter Riddle and family. He was also the brother-in-law of Benny Dye who he called “Brother.”
The memorial will take place at Cullman Heritage Funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020 at 1 p.m. The family will receive guests starting at 12:15.
