CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman City School Board on Thursday afternoon recognized outgoing board member Suzanne Harbin for her 17 years of service on the board. Harbin has served since 2003.

Superintendent Dr. Susan Patterson called Harbin “not only a board member but a friend, a pillar of our community and our schools.” Said Patterson, “She spends many long hours on her own full-time job, but then always has been there when you need her as a board member, and always had the kids and students in her heart and doing what’s best for them.”

Each of the board members took a turn thanking Harbin for her contributions to the board and system, and for her help to each of them as they came to the board.

Lee Powell is also stepping down from the board, but was not present Thursday evening. His recognition will take place at a later date.

The new Cullman City School Board will be sworn in Nov. 2, 2020.
