CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Animal Shelter’s Donna Ruttkay shares The Cullman Tribune Pet of the week:

Tundra is a 2-year-old St. Bernard mix. He’s as big as his namesake, a robust and active medium-energy pet who’s skilled on his leash, with good spatial awareness. He can come inside, but he enjoys getting out in the yard to play and stretch out those long legs and give that big body room to roam.

Ruttkay said, “His colossal self is remarkably sweet and longs for when you spend time with him.”

Tundra has the makings of a good therapy, companion or hiking dog.

Tundra’s adoption fee is $100 which includes DHLPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccines, rabies vaccine, wormer, general exam at the vet, neutering, microchip, free 30-day health insurance policy issued by 24PetWatch (with valid email only) and a free bag of food from Cullman Pet Depot (you must pay sales tax).

Animal shelter staff and volunteers work with their dogs to make sure they are accustomed to being around people, walking on a leash and practicing good behavior. Several of the shelter’s canine friends have even been “hired” to work as therapy and special needs service dogs.

Please consider adopting, to give a rescued pet a chance at a happy and healthy life.
